Successful Marketing – Be Pro-Active!

img-internet-marketingAs business owners it’s very important to take the time to do things right in order to build our business the right way without wasting time. Have you ever thought about how much time we might be wasting in our business just waiting for something to change? I know many businesses are just “waiting” for the economy to change so they can continue to grow their business. But I have to ask, why are those business owners not being pro-active and doing what it takes to not “just get by” but continue to move forward no matter what the economy is like.

I say all of this to submit to you this question: How many business owners really take the time to learn real marketing? When I say real marketing, I’m not talking about being an annoying salesman or talking on the phone all day. I’m talking about really learning how to market the most effective way possible. I find it interesting, many of the training courses for sale today don’t really cover marketing. One of the few people I have seen that really stresses the importance of learning how to market is Eben Pagan.

When I look at companies that have really taken the time to learn how to marketing correctly, I think of Apple. They have some awesome marketing experts on their team. Next time you are designing a sales page, compare yours to Apple’s sales pages. They are awesome!

That’s the kind of stuff I’m talking about….
How many of us spend time split testing our sales pages, or learning where our customer’s eyes go when they come to our site? These are the kinds of things very few do, but also the things that will make a massive difference in your business success.

We really need to remember to get into our customer’s head and figure out what they are really looking for. I believe the statistics are that you have about three seconds to capture the attention of your readers before they hit the back button. We have to offer a solution to people’s problems, if our customers don’t see anything that looks like a solution, they are gone!

There really is a LOT more we could talk about when it comes to marketing and marketing strategies, but I bring all this up to encourage you to stay pro-active and not wait for the economy or situations to change! Go out and Possess Your Land! and take the time to marketing correctly and watch things start to change.

Until next time, don’t ever give up!

Pro-active!

Can’t stress this enough. From my experience, many feel that Tweeting is enough, or comment spamming is enough, but these aren’t Marketing Techniques, these are used car salesman techniques.

Thanks Paul for your insight and reminder to keep it real and do it right. And most important, do it every day.

Great article on an important lesson to learn. So many small businesses market by the seat of their pants. They are so business with the tasks of the day they forget the ONLY “task” that will keep them in business – Marketing. Have a plan – work the plan. hmmm maybe a good article in there somewhere!

Thanks Jill! Great interview last week by the way! ;)
