Home Entrepreneur

homeenrepreneursguideAs Home Entrepreneurs we face many battles and many blessings that most storefront entrepreneurs don’t. Being an owner of a Coffee Shop and different online businesses, I have seen both sides of the coin. Personally I would take an online business over a storefront any day.

Running a home based business is a great thing, but we need to be careful of a few things…

First, we must protect our time! Time is something we will never get back, so we must protect it and use it wisely. Many friends and family may not understand this. They think because you are at home you can talk on the phone or hang out any time of the day. But, to stay productive we need to make sure we set designated time frames that we dedicate to our business.

We also must make sure you don’t get so consumed with our business or project that we neglect our family. As Home Entrepreneurs, we have the privileged to be at home to raise our kids and enjoy our family. But sometimes, when we get too consumed with our business, the blessing of our family doesn’t seem like a blessing anymore. This can add a ton of stress on our marriages!

To releave this kind of stress and to remain productive, it’s important to understand what a Home Entrepreneur is and is not.

As a Home Entrepreneur, you job is:

- To grow your business.

- Find solutions to people problems and make money on those solutions.

- Connect with the right people.

- Conceive ideas and bring them to a reality.

- Close the deal.

- Add value to others.

- etc.

Now, the following is a list of what is NOT your job as a Home Entrepreneur:

- An accountant.

- An advertiser.

- A web designer.

- A copywriter.

- An SEO guru.

- Customer Service.

- And the list goes on and on.

I’m not saying you can’t be a copywriter or an SEO expert if that’s what you are. But if that’s not what you are you can be wasting very valuable time trying to do ALL the things that need to be done in your business. For most of us, being a “jack of all trades” is a dangerous thing to try to be.

As Professional Home Entrepreneurs, we need to be honest with ourselves and know what we are good at and what we are not. The things you are not good at, you need to outsource. It’s fine if you want to learn how to do let’s say, SEO or Copywriting, but if that is taking away tome from being productive and making an income, something is wrong!

If we don’t face reality and understand what our goals are and what we need to get done in order to bring in the income to support our family and live in the freedom we want, we are going to stay extremely busy trying to do it all ourselves and end up stressed and frustrated…. and maybe even give up.

This is a topic that we recently talked about in one of our Possessing Your Land Weekly Webinars. I thought you may like to watch it, I will warn you though, we had a whole bunch of technical difficulties that day, so you will see what I mean as you watch the recording. But you will get the info you need. :)

If you would like to be notified about our Free Weekly Webinars, fill out your name and email in the blue box on the right of the screen and I’ll keep you posted, plus I have a few extra surprises for you. :)

So keep moving forward as a Home Entrepreneur!
